Comme des Garcons - Series 3 Incense: Ouarzazate
Ouarzazate by Comme des Garçons is an oriental-woody unisex fragrance launched in 2002 as part of the legendary Series 3 Incense collection. Created by perfumer Mark Buxton, this scent is an olfactory expedition to the Moroccan "gateway to the desert," where burning sands meet aromatic spice markets. Unlike the icy solitude of Zagorsk, Ouarzazate radiates solar warmth and a mystical, herbal sweetness.
The fragrance opens with an energetic blend of green tea, pepper, and red berries, providing a slightly fruity and vibrant introduction. The heart is dominated by aromatic clary sage, nutmeg, and spicy anise, woven with a delicate touch of jasmine. At its core lies sacred incense, which, combined with smoky guaiac wood, labdanum, and velvety cashmere wood, creates a deep, resinous aura. A whisper of vanilla and musk in the dry down adds a comforting softness, making Ouarzazate an incredibly wearable, soothing, and spiritually harmonious scent.
